Jimmy Chang Joins Bloomberg’s The Close to Discuss Outlook Amid Complex Geopolitical, Economic Backdrop
Jimmy Chang, Chief Investment Officer of Rockefeller Global Family Office, joined Bloomberg’s The Close to share his perspective on markets amid heightened geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
Chang cautioned that investor sentiment may be underestimating current risks, noting that markets appear “too sanguine” given the potential scale and duration of the conflict in Iran. He pointed to conflicting market signals—such as strong inflows into energy stocks alongside rallies in airline equities—as evidence that risks may not yet be fully priced in.
While the U.S. may be somewhat insulated in the near term by tax refunds and tax cuts, Chang characterized the outlook as mixed and emphasized that sustained energy price increases remain a meaningful headwind. Looking ahead, he noted that a double‑digit equity correction, should it occur, could present opportunity for investors, but stressed that the current environment remains a “test of endurance.”
