Media Replay – Jimmy Chang Joins CNBC’s Closing Bell to Discuss AI Spending, Market Broadening and Economic Outlook
Rockefeller CIO Jimmy Chang recently joined CNBC’s Closing Bell to discuss the recent market rally, AI investments, and his outlook on the broader economy. He noted that several mega-cap technology companies appear to be stabilizing following a period of underperformance, while investors remain focused on whether growing AI-related capital expenditures will ultimately generate the returns needed to justify continued spending.
Chang also highlighted signs of healthy market broadening beneath the surface. While companies benefiting from AI infrastructure investment have led recent gains, he noted that mid-cap and small-cap stocks have outperformed many mega-cap technology names year to date, reflecting a more diversified market environment. Chang described today’s environment as a “K-shaped economy,” pointing to challenges facing the labor market.
