Christopher Mitchell is a Senior Vice President – Portfolio Manager and Private Advisor with the Rockefeller Global Family Office. With over two decades of industry experience, he strives to bring structure and simplicity to his clients’ complex financial lives. Chris delivers comprehensive wealth management solutions to high-net-worth families, corporate executives, physicians, business owners/entrepreneurs, corporate 401k plans, private equity clients, investment bankers, investment grade and high yield fixed income traders.

Chris’s process includes advanced financial planning and modeling that will incorporate inflation, income and investment taxes, portfolio withdrawal analysis and strategies, trust and tax solutions for multigenerational families, corporate stock-based compensation, gifting and philanthropic solutions. Chris specializes in discretionary equity and fixed income portfolio management, overseeing Growth, Balanced, and Dividend/Income focused portfolios for his clients including municipal tax-exempt bonds, REITS, and Alternative Investments. Chris can use options to provide income and hedge portfolio risk.

Chris’s team specializes in business exit solutions, including business valuation, leveraging Rockefeller Capital Management’s Investment Bankers and the Family Office to help prepare for the sale and deal execution.

Chris holds a B.A. degree in Economics from West Virginia University. In addition, he holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA)designation.

After graduating from West Virginia University, Chris entered the financial industry in 2001 spending 12 years with Prudential Securities – Private Client Group, which was soon after acquired by Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors. In 2013, he joined Raymond James & Associates advising clients for 10 years.

Active in the community, Chris volunteers for A Child’s Place, which helps to reduce the impact of homelessness on children and their education. Chris has volunteered with Mission of Hope, an organization focused on needs in Haiti. Originally from Charleston, W.Va., Chris has called Charlotte NC home since 2006, where he lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and two daughters. Chris enjoys golf, skiing at Alta and Snowbird in Utah, and traveling to Patagonia.
