Mia Cardwell is a Managing Director and Senior Private Advisor at Rockefeller Capital Management. Mia serves as a personal CFO and most trusted financial advisor to time-starved corporate executives, entrepreneurs and multigenerational families.   She counsels clients in all areas of financial planning focusing on retirement, estate, business succession, charitable, tax, and compensation planning. Mia provides comprehensive financial plans and strategic investment plans as a roadmap for a client to realize their future dreams.  Her passion for providing appropriate solutions and service for her clients is a top priority.

Prior to Rockefeller, Mia was Managing Director & Senior Vice President at Whitnell where she specialized in financial planning for corporate executives, business owners, and wealthy families. Before joining Whitnell, Mia was a Senior Financial Planner, Team Manager, and Investment Professional for Harris Bank and Firstar Investments.

Mia has served as a Board of Director for multiple organizations including a local Utility Board, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club, Trustee of the Northwest Community Hospital Foundation Board and the Hospital’s Planned Gift Committee. In addition, she has served as a Director for the Giving Trust and Wellness Place.

Mia has been actively involved in the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and has served as the Director of Membership for the Chicago Loop Council, Director of Career Development for FPA Illinois, Chairman of the FPA Chicago Internship Program for FPA Illinois, and a mentor for the FPA Residency Program.

She received her bachelor’s degree in financial planning and counseling from Purdue University. She received her MBA degree in finance from Keller Graduate School of Management. She also holds the CFP® certification.
