Private Advisor, Managing Director

Michael Wallace is a Private Advisor at Rockefeller Capital Management – joining the legendary family office in October 2019, as one of the founding members of the Los Angeles office.

Michael has over 19 years of industry experience, beginning his career at Lehman Brothers in New York City in 2000, where he first focused on the equity and fixed income derivatives market. He later joined Lehman’s Fixed Income Sales & Trading desk and he continues to leverage his experience to help clients optimally position the liquidity portion of their portfolios. Prior to joining Rockefeller, Michael spent 11 years at UBS Private Wealth Management and International, focusing on entrepreneurs, executives and family offices.

Michael thrives on bringing a creative and investigative approach to serving his clients. At Rockefeller, he will continue to be his clients’ relentless advocate, utilizing resources, including the firm’s tax and lending specialists, trust and estate planners, portfolio structuring teams and comprehensive family office colleagues to ensure each client receives high quality service. Michael will continue to bring a certain element of art to the world of Private Wealth Management.

A native of New York, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Loyola College in Maryland. At the outset of his career, he devoted two years in the late 1990s to teaching at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations as well as a life insurance license.

Michael lives with his wife Denise and three young children in Los Angeles. In his free time, he enjoys trail running, embarking on open water ocean swims, and speaking Thai during the occasional visit to a Thai Town restaurant.
