William Fenrich

Chief Legal Officer

William “Billy” Fenrich is the Chief Legal Officer of Rockefeller Capital Management.

Prior to joining Rockefeller, Fenrich was the Chief Legal Officer at AQR Capital Management and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Previously, Fenrich was the Global Chief Compliance Officer for Morgan Stanley and a member of the firm’s Management and Risk Committees. Fenrich also served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Point State Capital, from its 2010 spin-out from Duquesne Capital until 2014. He started his career at Davis Polk & Wardwell in 1999 and was named partner in 2005.

He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and received his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Fordham University School of Law. He clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, from 1998 to 1999, and for the Honorable Loretta A. Preska of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, from 1997 to 1998.
