Mark Patterson Joins Rockefeller Capital Management as a Senior Advisor

New York, April 5, 2018

Rockefeller Capital Management today announced Mark Patterson has been named a Senior Advisor to the firm. In this role, Patterson will help guide Rockefeller in its evolution to offer a broader set of capabilities across wealth management, asset management and strategic advisory to clients that include ultra- and high-net-worth families, institutional investors and companies.

“Mark is an accomplished professional with a long career in global real estate investments,” said Gregory J. Fleming, President and Chief Executive Officer. “He’s a leader that brings new capabilities and experience to our team, and there is no doubt the firm will be guided by his good counsel as we continue our expansion.”

Patterson has been a real estate consultant and financial advisor since leaving Merrill Lynch in 2009. At Merrill, he finished as a Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate Global Principal Investments. Patterson joined the firm in April 2005 as the Global Head of Real Estate Investment Banking and in 2006 also became the Co-Head of Global Commercial Real Estate, a role that encompassed real estate investment banking, principal investing and mortgage debt.

Prior to joining Merrill, Patterson spent 16 years at Citigroup where he was the Global Head of Real Estate Investment Banking from 1996 to 2005. He started his career working in the real estate groups at Chemical Realty Trust and Arthur Andersen. Patterson also served as the Chairman and CEO of Boomerang Systems from 2010-2016 and 2010-2015, respectively. He has his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Patterson is the latest in a series of senior leadership hires made since Rockefeller Capital Management launched last month. He is the first Senior Advisor, and follows the additions of: Michael Brakey, Head of Credit and Banking; Jonathan Eisenberg, General Counsel; Ed Moriarty, Chief Financial Officer; Christopher Randazzo, Head of Wealth Management and Head of Technology & Operations; Jeffrey Shames, Senior Strategy Adviser; Harry Singh, Chief Operating Officer; and Grace Yoon, Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Advisory. John “Jack” Brennan and Lord Paul Myners have joined the board as independent directors.

Rockefeller expects to add more professionals and independent directors in the future.
