Suraj K. Gupta

Suraj K. Gupta (Columbia MBA ’17) is the Co-Founder, President and CEO of Rogue Insight Capital, the CIO for the Easton’s Group of Hotels & the Gupta Group (Canada’s largest private hotel developer), and the CSO and Co-Chair for the Gupta Family Foundation.

Rogue Insight Capital is a venture capital and alternative asset investment fund co-founded by Suraj and his sister Reetu Gupta. Rogue’s primary mandates include investing in diverse, socially impactful companies where it can add significant strategic value. Under Suraj’s leadership, the firm has made investments across six continents. Rogue’s portfolio includes investments in ThriveWorks, Drop Technologies, Abnormal, the Golden State Warriors, and the Aston Martin Formula One team. Rogue has had a very successful tenure to date, with several exits and IRRs well above industry benchmarks.

The Easton’s Group of Hotels is one of Canada’s largest private hotel operators, with a portfolio of 25 hotels owned and operates across Canada. The Gupta Group is one of Canada’s largest private real estate developers, building commercial and high-rise residential towers across the Greater Toronto Area.

The Gupta Family Foundation’s initiatives are centered around global equality and education, including donating educational technology to rural Jamaica, creating a microfinance program for female-led businesses in Egypt, building solar-powered, internet-enabled schools in Uganda, and emergency relief for India during the pandemic and for Turkey after the 2023 earthquake.

Suraj has been a keynote speaker at Harvard University, the Rockefeller NextGen Forum, the Ontario Economic Summit and at York University’s Alumni Speaker Series, and he has shared the stage with Bill Ford (Chairman of Ford Motors), Premier Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario) and many others. He is a member of the Rockefeller NextGen Advisory Council and the Forbes Business Council. He is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at York University and has guest lectured MBA classes at Columbia Business School and the Schulich School of Business. Suraj is on the Board of Directors for several companies and has been a Special Delegate to the United Nations in the past.
