Gupta (Columbia MBA ’17) is the Co-Founder, President and CEO of Rogue Insight Capital, the CIO for the Easton’s Group of Hotels & the Gupta Group (Canada’s largest private hotel developer), and the CSO and Co-Chair for the Gupta Family Foundation. Rogue Insight Capital is a venture capital and alternative asset investment fund co-founded by Suraj and his sister Reetu Gupta. Rogue’s primary mandates include investing in diverse, socially impactful companies where it can add significant strategic value. Under Suraj’s leadership, the firm has made investments across six continents. He also advised the Prime Minister’s Office on legislation to support the hospitality industry through the crisis, saving hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country. His work with Easton’s has not gone unnoticed, as Suraj was recently recognized by Kostuch Media Ltd. as a Top-30-Under-30 Award Winner (2020).

Suraj also co-chairs his family’s philanthropic organization, the Gupta Family Foundation, alongside his sister Reetu. The Foundation’s initiatives are centered around global equality and education, including donating educational technology to rural Jamaica, creating a microfinance program for female-led businesses in Egypt, building solar-powered, internet-enabled schools in Uganda, and emergency relief for India during the pandemic and for Turkey after the 2023 earthquake. Suraj has been a keynote speaker at the Ontario Economic Summit and at York University’s Alumni Speaker Series. He is a member of the Rockefeller NextGen Advisory Council and the Forbes Business Council. He is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at York University and has guest lectured MBA classes at the Schulich School of Business. Suraj is an advisor to several companies and has been a Special Delegate to the United Nations in the past.
